Hezbut Tawheed wants action against those involved in inciting and threatening religious gatherings by breaking the conditions of the administration

The organization alleged that Hezbut Tawheed had been subjected to provocative statements, lies and threats of eviction in violation of the conditions imposed by the administration at a religious gathering in Noakhali. They demanded to take legal action against the speakers and organizers involved in the incident and to ensure the safety of the members of the organization.

This demand was announced in a statement signed by the general secretary of the organization Nizam Uddin on Saturday (August 1) afternoon.

It is said in the statement that the leaders of Qaumi and Hefazat disobeyed the permission of the administration and spoke against Hezbut Tawheed in the rally organized in Noakhali district school ground. However, there was a condition in the authorization letter of the district police not to target any specific person or organization.

The organization claims that for the past 10 to 15 days, various mosques in Noakhali, Feni and Lakshmipur have been spreading propaganda against Hezbut Tawheed through provocative statements and distribution of false and fabricated handbills. This has created insecurity among the members.

The statement also said that although Hizbut Tawheed follows the true beliefs of Islam, they are trying to mislead the common people by calling them 'infidels'. The organization claims that they have been acquitted by the court in various false cases in 31 years of operation and have never disobeyed the law.

The organization also referred to the 2016 attack on Imam Hussain Mohammad Selim's house in Sonaimuri, Noakhali on rumours, and the killing of two members. They claim that the members are once again in fear of similar violence due to recent provocations and threats.

In this situation, Hezbut Tawheed made several demands to the administration. These include - taking legal action against individuals and organizers who make inflammatory statements and death threats in violation of the terms of the administration; Ensuring the safety of members of the organization across the country including Noakhali; Strengthening the security of more than half a hundred development projects including Imam's house, mosque, educational institution, hospital in Porkara of Sonaimuri; To permit counter-assembly in response to grievances and to provide administrative assistance in communicating their publications to the public in response to circulated handbills.

The statement also said that if effective measures are not taken quickly in this incident, the organization will announce the next program.

Hezbut Tawheed claims that they are peacefully presenting the true teachings of Islam to the people in accordance with the law and have been calling for a state system based on God's laws. At the same time, a group of extremists who oppose the use of religion as a means of business have resorted to systematic disinformation and incitement to silence them.
