US Navy Commander Stephen Kohler is coming to Dhaka on Tuesday

US Pacific Fleet Commander Admiral Stephen Kohler is coming to Dhaka on Tuesday (August 4) for a three-day visit to strengthen Bangladesh-US defense cooperation and maritime security talks. A high-level US Navy delegation of 22 members will visit Bangladesh under his leadership.

According to related sources, during the visit, Admiral Stephen Kohler will participate in several meetings with Bangladeshi military and defense officials. These meetings may discuss bilateral defense cooperation, maritime security, joint capacity building and various regional and strategic issues of mutual interest.

The visit comes at a time when another high-level US official is coming to Dhaka just three days after US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia Sergio Gore's visit to Bangladesh. As a result, the visit of two consecutive US representatives is seen as an important part of the ongoing diplomatic communication and strategic relationship between the two countries.

According to analysts, in recent times, contacts between Bangladesh and the US on trade, investment, defense cooperation, maritime security, stability of the Indo-Pacific region and regional security issues have increased significantly. In this visit of Admiral Koehler, further expansion of cooperation and discussion on future action plans may be important.

According to the concerned sources, this visit could deepen US defense ties with Bangladesh and add new dimensions to maritime security and joint cooperation. However, nothing has been officially announced about the detailed program of the tour or the possible agreement.
