In 25 days, more than Tk 28 thousand crores of expatriate income came to the country

In the first 25 days of this month of July, 229 crore 94 lakh 50 thousand US dollars worth of expatriate income or remittance has arrived in the country. The amount of which is more than 28 thousand 283 crores in Bangladeshi currency. During this period, the largest number of remittances among the country's banks came through Islami Bank.

This information has been informed in the updated report published by Bangladesh Bank on Sunday (July 26).

According to the report, in the first 25 days of July, 165.71 million US dollars came into the country through private banks. 33 crore 71 lakh 70 thousand dollars came through state-owned banks. Besides, 30,155,000 dollars came through specialized banks and 36,200,000 dollars through branches of foreign banks.

As far as banking is concerned, the highest expatriate income has come through Islami Bank. On the first 25 days of July, 35 crore 76 lakh 80 thousand dollars came to the country through the bank.

Bangladesh Krishi Bank is in the second position in collecting remittances. 30 million 15 million 50 thousand dollars came through this bank. Then there is BRAC Bank, through which 22.6 million 90 thousand dollars came to the country.

Apart from this, 16 crore 93 lakh 10 thousand dollars of expatriate income came to the country in the first 25 days of July through Agrani Bank.

According to this information of Bangladesh Bank, if the remittance flow continues in the last five days of the current month, the total expatriate income of July may increase further. Those concerned see this flow of remittances as positive due to the country's foreign exchange reserves and the important role of expatriate income in the economy.
