The price of gold has increased again in the country's market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) has set the price of 22 carat gold at 2 lakh 21 thousand 441 taka, increasing the price by 1 thousand 33 taka. The new price is effective from 10:30 AM on Tuesday (July 21).
In a circular on Tuesday morning, Bajus announced the new price of gold. The organization said, due to the increase in the price of acidic gold (pure gold) in the local market, the new price of gold including VAT has been fixed considering the overall situation.
According to the new price, the price of gold per 22 carat weight (11.664 grams) including VAT is Tk 2 lakh 21 thousand 441. Apart from this, the price of gold per 21 carat has been set at 2 lakh 11 thousand 468 taka. The price of 18 carat gold is 1 lakh 81 thousand 608 taka and the price of traditional gold is 1 lakh 48 thousand 366 taka.
According to Bajus, these fixed prices will remain in effect until further notice. However, according to the design and work of the jewelry, the buyers have to pay wages. Similarly, as VAT is included in the selling price of gold and silver ornaments, VAT cannot be collected separately from customers.
Earlier on July 14, Bajus reduced the price of gold by 2 thousand 158 taka per 22 carat. At that time, the price of a 22 carat gold bar was 2 lakh 19 thousand 808 taka. At the same time, the price of gold was Tk 2 lakh 9 thousand 894 per 21 carat, Tk 1 lakh 80 thousand 267 per 18 carat and Tk 1 lakh 47 thousand 316 per traditional gold.
According to Bajus data, the price of gold has been adjusted a total of 92 times in the country so far this year. Of these, prices were increased 45 times, reduced 46 times and VAT was adjusted once. As a result of the latest price hike, the price of gold in the country's market has once again gone up.
