Madhumita Sarkar, a popular actress from West Bengal, India, is going to act in a Bangladeshi movie for the first time. He is making his Dhallywood debut with the movie 'Gulshaner Chameli' directed by Mohammad Iqbal. Apart from expressing gratitude to the audience of Bangladesh for participating in the Mahrat ceremony of the film, the actress also expressed optimism about her new role.
While talking to the journalists at the Mahrat ceremony, Madhumita said, seeing the love and interest of the people of Bangladesh, she felt happy and responsible at the same time.
He said, "Everyones seeing so much interest and love, I am very scared. It is a big responsibility. After the release of the film, you will go and see it with interest. So I do not want to disappoint you in any way."
Regarding his character, he said that his character in 'Gulshaner Chameli' is very challenging. He feels that the biggest challenge will be to highlight the subtle difference between good and bad. Therefore, the actress said that she will try her best to present the character on screen properly.
Madhumita also commented that no separate research was needed to know about Bangladesh. He said that his relationship with this country is long. Even his Instagram page was created by a fan from Bangladesh.
In Madhumita's words, "There is nothing to research about Bangladesh separately. My relationship with this country is not today. I have received the love of many people from here. To say, this is where people know me the most."
When the topic of food came up, he expressed his interest in the traditional food of Bangladesh. Apart from wanting to eat kacchi biryani, hilsa polao and chicken ghee roast, the actress also talks about her plans to try Fuchka before returning home.
In response to the question why she decided to act in the movie 'Gulshaner Chameli', Madhumita said that at first she got curious about the character after just hearing the name. After reading the story, you will understand that this is a completely different character compared to his previous works. Director Mohammad Iqbal's storytelling style and depth of character inspired him to decide to act in the movie.
It is to be noted that Ajmeri Haque Bandhan, Amin Khan, Omar Sani, Rozina and Ashish Khandkar will act alongside Madhumita Sarkar in the movie 'Gulshaner Chameli'. The shooting of the movie is scheduled to begin by the end of this year.
