The US may launch a new attack on Iran today or tomorrow: US officials claim

Two US officials have claimed that the US may launch a new military strike against Iran in the next 24 to 48 hours. However, no information has yet been officially released about the target, scope or timetable of the possible attack. At the same time, the officials said that if the situation changes, there may be changes in the plan.

International media CNN published this information on Friday (July 31) citing US officials.

According to reports, discussions about the possibility of a new strike began after President Donald Trump recently signaled tougher military action against Iran. In a cabinet meeting, Trump said that the US campaign against Iran is not stopping now and that stronger strikes will be made against the country.

However, according to the latest information, no new military operation has been officially announced by the United States until Friday night. Similarly, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) did not announce any new strikes on Iran on Thursday and Friday.

Earlier this week, the US claimed it had launched a major military operation against Iran in response to an Iranian-backed attack attempt on a US military base in Jordan.

On the other hand, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported that an oil tanker near the strategically important Strait of Hormuz was hit by a missile attack. However, no party has been held responsible for the attack and the incident is under investigation.

Amid the ongoing tension in the Middle East, there are fears of a new conflict between the United States and Iran. However, international analysts are closely monitoring the situation as no official announcement has yet been made by the United States regarding a possible new attack.
