Although a secular state apparatus recognizes the freedom of women to participate in all social and political activities, this is absolutely unacceptable in our traditional religious culture. Our Mufti Maulana class obeys a woman statesman out of absolute compulsion. Dr. recently. With a fatwa against it, online content dissemination has started from the next day. Most of the Ulama in the country agree that it is not permissible for women to participate in the Janazah prayer. Even going with the corpse is not permissible. Although it is often seen, the Muslim women of our country do not participate in the funeral prayers, but leave the house with the body and go to the graveyard.
Exiled writer Taslima Nasreen wrote a column in Bengali Tribune on February 18, 2018 titled 'Why don't girls go to funeral prayers'. There, he demanded to give women the right not only to participate in all prayers including janaza but also to lead.
Bangbir Quader Siddiqui has again come into the discussion by provoking this controversy. Bangbir was very angry that the late freedom fighter Abdul Hamid Khan was given a guard of honor by UNO Farzana Alam of Sakhipur. He also demanded the punitive transfer of the woman UNO within a day. Since then, Bangbir has been basking in the goodwill of the misogynist Muftis and their followers, while also being the target of ridicule and ridicule from the secular class. However, it is important that he is in the discussion.
Now let's see what history says about women attending funerals. When Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas, a close companion of Rasulullah (RA) passed away, the wives of Rasulullah expressed interest in attending his funeral and asked to bring his body to the mosque. Many Companions participated in his funeral prayer regardless of men and women. According to them, the body of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (RA) was brought inside the Prophet's Mosque. Then the wives of Rasulullah also participated in it. This hadith is on page 63 of Sahih Muslim Sharif's Janazah Chapter on Funerals in Mosques (Volume 3). Abu Salama Ibn Abdur Rahman (RA) narrated that after the death of Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas (RA), Aisha (RA) said, "Take him to the mosque." May I also perform his funeral prayer. His words were disliked. He said, By Allah! Surely the Prophet (PBUH) performed the funeral of Bayaz's two sons, Suhayl and his brother, in the mosque.
From this incident, it becomes clear that the decision to ban women from participating in janaza is not an Islamic one, this meditation idea was born much later when various masalas were invented to keep women behind in the name of veiling. Men, being physically stronger, controlling society, have always wanted to keep women subordinate and submissive. Depriving them of human dignity was the social code. All the prophets and messengers have struggled to free them from this chain. In the era of Jahiliyyah in Arabia, women who had no human dignity, who were the means of enjoyment, the face of the father would be darkened if he had a daughter, and even killed those women by burying them alive. ) has allowed free participation in every sphere of life along with men. This was the place of women in the Muslim Ummah. And today women do not have access to mosques. They are covered with black cloth. Far from playing a role in national security, they have lost the ability to protect their own honor from the hands of petty scoundrels. Muslim women were not like that. Seeing all the fatwas spreading in the name of Islam today, rational educated people think that religions are the hindrance to women's progress. They are not willing to see the history of women created by Rasulullah (SAW), nor do they need to see. Because they are currently getting the material to spread hatred against Islam by looking at the black burqa on women and the duties of chaste women imposed by muftis. Those who do not know about the history of women in the early days of Islam, are influenced by propaganda and become anti-Islamists. This is the net result of religious traders' fatwas. No one is asking the question of what is the harm to society if a woman attends someone's janaza, instead assuming that the Islamic law for women is to cover them with a humiliating black veil. Who will tell them that the women of the Prophet's era and even his wives used to attend the funeral of any man or woman? The task of scholars and ulema was to answer the haters of Islam by highlighting the true history of Islam. But instead of doing that, for hundreds of years, even to this day, they are busy thinking about the horrors that will descend on the nation if they see a foreign woman. As a result, modern women are also taking a stand against religion. Therefore, it is the responsibility of all those who love Islam to present the real form of Islam and to present the unfathomable truth of Islam, which has been buried under a thousand years of fatwa, to the people. If it was possible to do this earlier, people like the brave freedom fighter Bangbir Quader Siddiqui would not have faced such an unknown environment.
