Five more children have died with measles symptoms in the country. With this, the number of deaths due to measles symptoms has increased to 715 since March 15. At the same time, 95 people died of confirmed measles. In all, 810 people lost their lives due to measles-related diseases.
This information was given in a message published on Friday (July 24) from the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Department of Health regarding the measles situation.
According to the report of the Department of Health, there was no confirmed measles death in the 24 hours from 8 am on Thursday to 8 am on Friday. However, during this time five more people died with symptoms of measles. As a result, the number of deaths due to measles symptoms has increased to 715 since March 15.
Meanwhile, 187 new confirmed measles cases were detected at the same time. Besides, another 950 people have been infected with measles symptoms.
The report also informed that since March 15, a total of 1 lakh 4 thousand 717 people have been admitted to different hospitals of the country with measles symptoms. Among them, 1 lakh 1 thousand 56 people have recovered after treatment and left the hospital.
According to the latest data published by the Department of Health, the number of measles-related patients and deaths in the country is still at an alarming level.
