The Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board has canceled the existing ad hoc committee of all private Dakhil and Alim Madrasahs in the country. At the same time, according to the revised regulations, a new ad hoc committee has been ordered to be formed within the next 15 working days.
This decision was announced in an urgent notice signed by Professor SM Touhiduzzaman, Registrar of Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board on Sunday (August 2).
The notice said, Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board (Managing Committee and Governing Body of Dakhil and Alim Level Private Madrasas) Regulations, 2025According to its regulation 64, all existing ad hoc committees of private Dakhil and Alim madrassas have been declared cancelled, including expired committees.
The Board has also determined the terms and conditions for the formation of the new ad hoc committee as per the revised regulations (SRO No. 89-Act/2026). This decision has been implemented in the light of the instructions issued by the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education on July 30.
According to the instructions, a three-member panel will be proposed by the Principal or Super Local Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and the District Commissioner (DC) of the concerned madrasa for the nomination of the chairman of the new ad hoc committee.
According to the board's instructions, the three-member panel should be prepared from academicians, eminent social workers, public representatives or serving or retired government officials of ninth grade or above.
Later, the list of the entire committee along with the proposal for nomination of other members should be sent to the concerned education board for approval.
Dakhil and Alim Madrasahs in City Corporation areas have a separate provision. The proposal of the ad hoc committee of these institutions should be sent to the concerned education board through the departmental commissioner.
Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board said that the urgent instructions regarding this have already been sent to the principals, superintendents, management committee members and related district and upazila education officials of all private Dakhils and Alim Madrasahs in the country.
