The Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board has ordered the formation of four football teams with Dakhil and Alim level students in each Madrasa of the country. Besides, regular practice and inter-class football competitions have also been directed to prepare the students.

This instruction was given in a circular signed by Professor SM Tauhiduzzaman, Registrar of Bangladesh Madrasa Education Board on Tuesday (July 21).

According to the circular, Prime Minister Tariq Rahman will inaugurate the Prime Minister's Gold Cup Football Tournament-2026 at the Chittagong Stadium on August 9, according to the decision of the Bangladesh Inter-Education Board Coordination Committee. Regular practice under the supervision of an experienced teacher or trainer is required for the teams formed. At the same time, initiatives should be taken to organize inter-class football competitions to encourage students to play sports.

The Madrasa Education Board also said that necessary activities should be taken to develop discipline, leadership qualities, team spirit and healthy lifestyle among the students through sports. It is also asked to follow the instructions given by the board or the concerned authorities in the future regarding the tournament.

According to the notification, by July 30, four football teams should be formed in each madrassa and the necessary information of the teams should be sent to the board. It has been instructed to send the information to the e-mail address specified for this purpose.
