Content creator Ashraful Alam alias Hero Alam, who claims to be a July warrior, said that the allegations of crimes against humanity leveled against him are completely false and fabricated. He also claimed that cases and complaints are being filed against him due to revenge. At the same time, Hero Alam warned that legal action will be taken against the complainants if the allegations are not proved.
Hero Alam said these things in a press conference organized in front of the National Press Club on Monday (July 27) afternoon. Earlier on Sunday (July 26), a man named Al Noor Mohammad Ayaz submitted a complaint against Hero Alam to the International Criminal Tribunal. The complaint claims his involvement in crimes against humanity in the 2024 coup in the country. The complainant Al Noor is the Central Member Secretary of a social and civil organization called State Dialogue Forum (SDF).
Reacting to the complaint, Hero Alam said that he cannot be suppressed with a false case. He claimed that a circle has been trying to kill and defame him for a long time. Terming the charges brought against him as vindictive, he said that if the complainants fail to prove these charges through evidence, then he will be forced to take legal action against them.
Hero Alam also said that he spoke against Awami League MPs, Ministers and Prime Ministers all his life and was attacked and beaten many times because of this. He claims that he has always spoken against injustice. In this context, he questioned whether it is possible to show any post where he has sought votes or campaigned for Awami League.
Highlighting his role during the movement, Hero Alam said, two years after the uprising, there is a question as to why his name has suddenly come up in the complaint. He claimed that he was with the students during the agitation and considered himself a July fighter.
Hero Alam also said in the press conference that he is not afraid of death. In his words, "If a hero Alam is gone, nothing will happen." However, he also reiterated that legal action will be taken against those concerned if the allegations against him are not proved.
