Jasd president Inu has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for crimes against humanity
The International Criminal Tribunal-2 has sentenced Jasd president Hasanul Haque Inu to 10 years in prison for the murder of six people in Kushtia during the July uprising. He was convicted on three of the eight charges brought against him in the verdict.

A three-member judicial panel headed by Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, chairman of the International Criminal Tribunal-2, announced the verdict. The other two members of the judicial panel were judges Md. Manzurul Bachid and justice Noor Mohammad Shahriar Kabir.
Hasanul Haque Inu was the only accused in the case. A total of eight specific charges of crimes against humanity, including the killing of six people in Kushtia, were brought against him. After a lengthy hearing and review of evidence, the tribunal found him guilty of all three charges. Based on this, he was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
According to the information presented to the court, the investigation team of the prosecution started the investigation against Inu on March 25, 2025. After several months of investigation, the investigation report was submitted to the tribunal on September 11 of the same year. Later on September 25, the prosecution filed the formal charge sheet.
After accepting the complaint and after the preliminary hearing, the tribunal ordered the formal complaint to be formed on November 2 last year and the trial to begin. The verdict in the case was announced on Tuesday after the conclusion of testimony, arguments and other judicial proceedings.
The verdict adds another important chapter to the trial of crimes against humanity related to the July uprising. However, there is an opportunity to appeal to the High Court against the verdict according to the existing law
