Party spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said that the National Citizen Party (NCP) leaders and workers cannot be detained with any kind of barricades or sand trucks. He made this comment in a post on his verified Facebook account on Wednesday (July 29).
In a Facebook post, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan writes, 'It is not easy to forget the sand truck. But we cannot be stuck with sand trucks like you.
His comments were preceded by the blocking of the NCP convoy on Wednesday. After leaving from Moulvibazar Circuit House, the police stopped the party's convoy when it reached in front of Srimangal's Cha Kanya sculpture around 5 pm.
At this time, ignoring the rain, the central leaders of the NCP took a stand on the streets. Among them were Nahid Islam, Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Nasiruddin Patwari and Dr. Mahmuda Jahan Mitu and other party leaders.
NCP leaders broke the barricade and moved forward after a long argument with the police. Later, the leaders and activists of the party also took a stand in the rain on the road of Rashidpur gas field area of Bahubal upazila of Habiganj.
Earlier on Tuesday, after the march and rally of the NCP in Habiganj district town, there was a clash with the leaders and activists of the local BNP organization. Several people including NCP central leader Sarjis Alam were injured. At this time, some cars were vandalized.
The NCP immediately called a protest rally to protest the incident. On the same day, the district administration issued section 144 for an indefinite period in Habiganj municipal area, fearing a possible deterioration of the law and order situation if the district youth party also announced the program of the rally.
In the meantime, a new discussion has started in the political arena based on the incident of blocking the NCP convoy and the Facebook post of party spokesperson Asif Mahmud.
