Chittagong Representative:
A new convening committee has been formed by dissolving the two-year old committee of Chittagong Reporters Association (CRA), an organization of professional journalists working in Chittagong. This decision is taken based on the opinion of the members of the organization.
In a virtual meeting of outgoing committee president Sohag Arefin and general secretary Nuru Amin Khokon along with other members held on Saturday (August 1) night, this committee was announced with the aim of completing the election activities as per the constitution within the next 90 days.
In the announced new committee, "Newsday24" editor. Rubel has been made the convener and Saifuddin Ramiz, the Chittagong representative of 'Dainik Sagalal Saham' and 'News 21 Bangla TV', has been made the member secretary. Apart from this, Mohammad Shakeel, the Chittagong representative of Daily Aajkal Khabar newspaper, has been made the finance editor.
Safayet Morshed, representative of 'Newsday24', Riyaz Uddin of 'Dainik Ekushe Sangbad', Ratan Barua of 'Dainik Suryodaya' and Kamrul Sifat Ullah, in charge of 'Chittagong Post Multimedia', have been appointed as executive members of the committee.
The convener of the newly formed committee. Rubel said, "Based on everyone's opinion and trust, we will carry out the responsibility entrusted to us with honesty, transparency and neutrality. We will make every effort to organize a free, fair and acceptable election in the next 90 days following the constitution of the organization."
Member Secretary Saifuddin Ramiz said, "Our goal is to build a united and strong organization with all the members of Chittagong Reporters Association. The convening committee will work sincerely to ensure that the election process is participatory, transparent and acceptable. For this purpose, we seek the cooperation and advice of all members."
According to the convening committee, according to the constitution of the organization, the responsibility will be handed over to the newly elected committee after successfully completing the election process within the next 90 days.
