In Lakshmipur's Kamalnagar, an allegation of gang-rape was found after a young auto-rickshaw passenger was picked up unconscious by spraying. The young victim is threatened to spread the video recorded during the incident on social media if the matter is disclosed. Two days have passed since the family of the victim of torture in this incident filed a case, but the police has not arrested anyone so far.
According to the statement of the case filed at the police station, the young woman, a resident of Charjangalia area of Hajihat union of the upazila, works as a receptionist at a diagnostic center in the local Karunanagar market. On July 27, the son of Farid Ahmed of Charfalkon area of the upazila from unknown number one. Robin (24) calls the girl's cell phone. At this time, Robin started teasing her in various ways by mentioning that she likes him.
On Tuesday evening, the young woman boarded an autorickshaw to return home after completing her duty at the diagnostic center. When the auto-rickshaw reached the Hazirhat Meghna Cinema Hall area, passengers Robin and Rakib sprayed the girl's face with anesthetic spray. When he fell unconscious, they took him to an abandoned house adjacent to Artis Killa Government Primary School in South Charjangalia area of Hazirhat Union. There they tied the hands and face of the girl and raped her in turn. When she regained consciousness around 10:30 pm, she found herself in this condition.
At this time, he saw four other youths besides Robin and Rakib consuming yaba. At one stage, after much pleading, the girl was released from their grip on the condition of not telling anyone about the matter. While leaving, Robin threatened the girl that the video of the rape would be released on social media if she disclosed the incident. Later, when the young woman informed the family, her mother filed a complaint under the Prevention of Women and Child Abuse Act on Friday night, mentioning the names of Robin and Rakib and accusing some unknown persons.
The victim of torture said, "Recently divorced from my husband, I am living in my father's house with a son. I was living a normal life with a job in a diagnostic center to earn a living. But this young man named Robin has caused havoc in my life. We are now in extreme fear due to various threats from Robin and his associates, including threats to spread the video after being gang-raped." He demanded speedy arrest and exemplary punishment of the accused.
In this regard, the officer-in-charge (OC) of Kamalnagar police station. Faridul Alam said, "The medical examination of the victim of torture has already been completed. The police are continuing their efforts to quickly arrest those involved in the incident."
