Workers' Welfare Federation rally and march in Kaunia to mark the 2nd anniversary of the July People's Uprising

Kaunia (Rangpur) Representative:
On the occasion of the second anniversary of the July Uprising and to demand the implementation of the popular verdict of the referendum, the implementation of the Teesta Master Plan, the end of border killings and push-in closures, rallies and labor marches were held at Kaunia in Rangpur.

On Sunday afternoon, a labor procession took place from the Kaunia Mofazzal Hossain Government High School ground under the initiative of the Kaunia Upazila branch of the Bangladesh Labor Welfare Federation. After rounding various roads, the procession went to Kaunia bus stand square and met for assembly.

Kaunia Upazila Labor Welfare Federation President Md. Yusuf Ali, District Assistant Secretary Zahir Uddin Jewel, Upazila Youth President Dr. Ashraful Ilam, Secretary of Labor Welfare Federation Minhajul Islam Mithu and Upazila Youth Assistant Secretary Ahsan Habib Biplab.

Balapara Union Jamaat President Abdur Rahim, Balapara Workers Welfare Federation President Delwar Hossain, Union President Rafiqul Islam, Haragach President Nazrul Islam, Union President Khairul Islam and Upazila Baitulmal Secretary Golam Kibria also spoke. Apart from this, President of Bangladesh Jamaat Islami Upazila Rickshaw-Van Trade Union. Local leaders of the organization including Shahidul Islam and General Secretary Ashraful Islam addressed it.

The speakers urged the government to take effective and swift action to implement their demands immediately.
